Looking for gardeners to present

A session, entitled Down and Dirty with Small-scale Shellfish Growers, Hobbyists, and Gardeners, is being organized for the upcoming Aquaculture 2010 Conference, to be held in San Diego, CA during 1-5 March 2010. The session topic will address practical, novel and innovative tools and techniques developed by small-scale shellfish growers, hobbyists and gardeners in rearing their crops. Examples might be a low-cost harvester, easy-to-use record keeping system or an electronic guide for identifying organisms found in a culture system. An exchange of information on methodologies, devices, and equipment will benefit current or future efforts around the nation. If interested in participating, please contact Teri King, University of Washington, at guatemal@u.washington.edu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false or phone 360-432-3054, or Leslie Sturmer, University of Florida, at lnst@ufl.edu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false or phone 352-543-5057. Titles of talks are due by August 1 and abstracts must be submitted by August 31.
