Looks like Willapa is going to get a good natural set of Pacific oysters if the weather doesn't suddenly change for the worse.

Bad news for the Willapa oyster growers: Most of the larvae did not survive and the set is small and spotty. That makes five years in a row without a substantial natural oyster set. What is causing this? Ocean Acidification? Vibrio?

Is there any hope for a late season spawn?

Heard the same bad news last week. The larvae appear to just dieoff after about 5 to 7 days. They just don't grow like they normally do after fertilization and die.
